Fairfield Police arrested Michael Kondrat of Four Seasons Road on sixth-degree larceny and engaging police in pursuit charges after it took the aid of state troopers and Westport police to finally bring him to a stop, according to the Hartford Courant.

Kondrat was accused of stealing ribs, a soda and a flashlight from the Stop and Shop at 760 Villa Ave. before fleeing in a white Nissan Maxima. A nearby officer assisting a motorist who had been locked out of his car spotted the vehicle and gave pursuit before Kondrat got onto I-95 South. Authorities were eventually able to corral Kondrat at exit 17 at the Westport-Norwalk border. Kondrat attempted to escape on foot, but didn’t get very far.

Bail was set at $75,000 for Kondrat, who also had outstanding warrants in Trumbull and Stratford.
